Here's the main arc of the story, followed by an example plot. The story has three main plots and around half a dozen twists. I'm still learning but I'm feeling much happier with the characters, themes, and moments of tension and jeopardy, since putting writing on hold while I used tools to help me visualise and structure the thinking.
